Europe: Greenpeace Action
 
In December, Greenpeace activists chained themselves to a Russian timber ship in the port of Wilhelmshaven, Germany in protest against the import of timber from ancient forests. The protest was aimed to prevent the delivery of the pine and fir from the 5 million ha Dvinsky forest in northern Russia.
