| A new report shows a definite shift in the global forest products marketplace towards green procurement. It shows customers demanding higher environmental standards and being keen to avoid controversial forest hotspots that are the focus of environmental campaigns. The report, by IBM Business Consulting Services (formerly Pricewaterhouse Coopers), is titled ‘A Greenward Shift in the Market for Forest Products from British Columbia’. It represents a survey of 30 major forest products customers that together spend over US$2 billion on forest products per year. Customers in North America, Japan and Europe were surveyed, including companies such as Home Depot, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Axel Springer Verlag, Mitsui Home and Random House Canada. |
